CLOSE TO THE SEA

Gemaal nummer 17 is located approximately 500 metres from the sea. This means that in less than ten minutes you can go from the dining table in your holiday home to your towel on the beach. It doesn’t get any better than that, does it?

Nearby you will also find the seaside resort of Cadzand. It is just a five-minute drive, and by bike you can reach the centre of Cadzand in less than fifteen minutes. There you will find everything you need, including restaurants, a supermarket and small shops. The surrounding area also offers everything you need for a fantastic holiday.

CADZAND

The coastal town of Cadzand actually consists of two villages. Cadzand-Bad and Cadzand-Dorp.

The seaside resort of Cadzand-Bad is, together with Domburg, the only seaside resort in the Netherlands that is allowed to carry the designation Heilzame Zeebadplaats, as it meets the quality criteria of the Europäischen Heilbäderverband for thalassotherapy.

In Cadzand-Dorp you will find a Gothic Mariakerk dating from the early 14th century. The village is also home to the windmill Nooitgedacht, a mill from 1898 that was fully restored in 1977. It is a lovely village to stroll through.

VERDRONKEN ZWARTE POLDER

Near Nieuwvliet lies the Verdronken Zwarte Polder. The area was formed as a result of a dike breach in 1802, which restored an open connection with the sea. As a result, the area is now crossed by numerous small creeks that create a great diversity of vegetation and wildlife. A 7-kilometre walking route runs through the Verdronken Zwarte Polder, perfect for a relaxing afternoon walk.

KNOKKE

Just twenty minutes by car from the park, just across the Belgian border, you will find Knokke. This seaside resort is ideal for an afternoon of shopping. In between, you can relax on one of the many terraces or cool your feet in the sea. Knokke is also a true paradise for car enthusiasts. When you sit down with a drink near any roundabout, you will be amazed by the Maseratis, Bentleys and Porsches that pass by. It is safe to say that Knokke offers something for everyone.
